Privacy Policy

Effective 27 July 2026 · Applies to the Flutter Android app (io.midnightmedia.flutter)

The short version

Flutter is a kick-counting and contraction-timing app built to be used privately, during a pregnancy, without becoming one more thing collecting information about you. In practical terms:

Everything you log stays on your phone. Kicks, contractions, notes, and any pregnancy profiles you create are stored only on your device. Flutter has no server, and we never receive, see, or store this information ourselves.

No accounts, no ads, no analytics or tracking software of any kind. There is nothing to sign in to, and nothing running in the background reporting on how you use the app.

Purchases go directly through Google Play. If you buy Flutter Pro, Google handles the payment. We only ever learn whether the purchase succeeded — never your card details or other payment information.

What Flutter stores

All of the following is created by you, using the app, and saved only on your own device:

Kick sessions
Start/end times, kick count, and any note you add to a session
Contractions
Start and end times of logged contractions
Daily target
The kick-count goal you set for yourself
Pregnancy profiles
A name you choose for each profile (e.g. "Pregnancy 1"), used only to separate histories on your device
Baby's name/nickname
Optional — used only to personalise text in the app and your exported PDF
App preferences
Colour theme, vibration and auto-save settings, whether you've purchased Pro

We don't ask for your real name, email address, date of birth, due date, or any health information beyond what you choose to type into a note field. Flutter has no way to identify who you are.

Where your data lives

Flutter stores everything using your Android device's standard app-private storage. This data is sandboxed by the operating system so that other apps can't read it, and it is never transmitted to us, to Google, or to anyone else over the internet. If you use Flutter on more than one device, your history does not sync between them — each device keeps its own separate, local copy.

Purchases & Flutter Pro

Flutter Pro subscriptions and the one-time lifetime purchase are sold and processed entirely by Google Play Billing. When you buy Flutter Pro:

  • Google collects and processes your payment details according to its own Google Privacy Policy — Flutter never sees your card number or billing address.
  • The app receives only a confirmation that the purchase was made, which it stores locally as "Pro is unlocked."
  • If you reinstall Flutter or move to a new device, the app can ask Google Play to confirm your past purchase and automatically restore Pro — this check also goes through Google, not through us.

Third parties & sharing

Flutter does not sell, rent, or share your data, because it never leaves your device in the first place. The only outside service the app talks to at all is Google Play Billing, solely to process a purchase you've chosen to make. There are no advertising networks, analytics platforms, or crash-reporting tools built into Flutter.

App permissions

Flutter requests two Android permissions, both used narrowly for the features they support:

Vibrate
Buzzes your phone when you log a kick, if you've turned that on in Settings
Internet
Used only so Google Play Billing can process a purchase or restore one you've already made

Flutter does not request access to your location, camera, microphone, contacts, or photos.

Backups & exports

Settings includes an optional Backup feature that saves your history to a file, and a Pro keepsake PDF export. Both are created on your device and only sent anywhere if you choose to save, share, or send that file yourself, using your phone's own share menu — Flutter and its developer never receive a copy.

Deleting your data

You're always in control of what Flutter keeps:

  • Delete an individual session, contraction, or an entire day's history at any time from within the app.
  • Delete a whole pregnancy profile, which removes everything logged under it.
  • Uninstalling Flutter removes all app data from your device immediately, in line with standard Android behaviour.

Because we never hold a copy of your data ourselves, there is nothing on our end to separately access, correct, or delete on your behalf — deleting it on your device is the whole process.

Children's privacy

Flutter is intended for adults tracking their own pregnancy, and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from children, and since the app collects nothing from anyone in the first place, no such information is ever gathered through Flutter.
